Wonderful Poem



The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I really love this poem. I was suppose to be studying for finals and I came upon part of this poem. So I decided to look it up and read it. First I really love this poem because many times I just stand at the fork in the road. It is hard to take that first step, It's hard committing to what needs to happen eventually. It seems just easier to sit and wait. Yet, this is not life, waiting around. Life is going and doing. Life is seeing all the colors the night sky has to offer. Commit... a scary word that rarely is in my vocabulary. Also this poem takes the road less traveled. I want to be a pioneer in my day. I want to be different and take the overgrown road. It is exciting taking the hard road, it is filled with new adventures. I do not want to take the familiar road which many have gone on. My own life, my own way. Some advice that probably is not very good advice but... Do what you do and keep on keepin on. Style is an interesting word. It can be related to everything. Style of hair, style of play, style of work and Ect.. The list goes on so find your own style. Make the world more vibrant. Make the world a better place. It would be sad to not experience a very polychromatic life. Relating back to the poem. I think if I were at the fork in the road, I would start making my own path.
